For the City of Laredo our “global prospective” includes providing international leadership to optimize health and quality of life along the border. Our city faces such challenges such as an inadequate health care delivery system, a significant un-insured and under-insured population, and being medically underserved. Despite these realities, our City Health Department continues to push forward to provide health care and prevention services to the needy citizens of our community. We ask you to consider items in the health agenda which include the support of core public health services as well as the revision of categorical funding for the Women, Infants, and Children Program that would allow additional health screenings for mothers’ to be.”
