Support legislation that would establish an Internet based E-Tag System - an electronic log system, where the vehicle and pertinent information would have its sale logged on-line and that information would be accessible to law enforcement on-line.

The widespread use of illegal paper tags has caused a number of legitimate concerns across the state. Among these are the following:

• Jeopardized homeland security
• Hindered positive identification of vehicle owners or buyers
• Facilitated vehicle use in crime
• Facilitated use of vehicle without liability insurance
• Promoted counterfeiting for profit
