Trash Tip of the Week:

Did you know that:

· Motor oil does wear out. It simply gets dirty. It can be re-refined and used again and again. Ask for recycled oil at your local auto parts store.

· When used motor oil is poured into the ground, it can seep into the groundwater and contaminate drinking water supplies. A single quart of motor oil can pollute 250,000 gallons of water in our rivers and lakes.

Therefore, do your part to save the environment and recycle your used motor oil by taking it to the City of Laredo Recycling Center, located at 1201 Clark Blvd.

· El aceite de motor no se gasta. Sencillamente se ensucia. Puede refinarse y usarse una y otra vez. Pida aceite reciclado en su tienda local de repuestos de automóvil.

· Cuando se derrama sobre el terreno el aceite usado de motor, puede filtrarse en el agua subterránea y contaminar el abastecimiento de agua potable. Un solo cuarto de aceite de motor puede contaminar 250,000 galones de agua en nuestros ríos y lagos.
