Trash Tip of the Week:

Did you know that:

o In January of this year, the City of Laredo Solid Waste department collected almost 6,300 TONS of household garbage and only 310 TONS of recyclables. That amounts to a dismal 5% recycling rate!

o Recycling helps turn materials that would otherwise become waste into valuable resources and produces long- term benefits. The combined waste reduction efforts of cities and citizens can make a difference.

o Remember, when you recycle, you help sustain the environment and natural ecosystem for future generations. Reduce, reuse, recycle! Use your blue recycle bags for all recyclable material. Remember, trash collection for recycling is Thursdays and Fridays.
