For week of December 20, 2004

Trash Tip of the Week:
We’re all aware of how much trash we throw out during the holidays. By reducing waste, we can save our natural resources and give a gift to the Earth.
Select a gift and give it with waste reduction in mind.  Start by planning ahead what you will do with all the possible recyclable items that will be left
behind from the holidays, and how you will dispose of them.  For example, wrapping paper, cardboard, and plastic containers can be put in the blue
recycling bags.  Also, convert your tree into mulch that can be used in your landscape.  Trees can be recycled into mulch, which is available throughout
the year to city residents for free, if self-loaded right, at the 618 Del Mar Blvd. Clean Christmas trees (no tinsel, garland, lights or discarded decorations,
please!) can be taken to the following fire station sites:

Station # 1 Guadalupe Street        Station # 8  510 Del Mar Blvd
Station # 2  2100 Zacatecas        Station # 9  13301 Mines Road
Station # 3  2420 San Bernardo        Station # 10 11015 McPherson Rd.
Station # 4  1919 Houston        Station # 11 5210 HWY 359
Station # 5  2601 Bartlett        Station # 12 9402 NE Bob Bullock Loop
Station # 6  4903 Maher Ave.        Station # 13 26911 Pinto Valle Drive
Station # 7  1120 Calton Rd.        And at 5510 Daugherty St.

The sites will begin collecting trees on December 26, 2004.

Aviso semanal sobre la basura:
Mucha basura se tira durante la temporada navideña.  Reduciendo los desperdicios, podemos conservar los recursos naturales y dar un regalo a la madre
naturaleza. Tenga en mente esto cuando elegía un regalo para dar esta Navidad.  Empiece, a planear lo que hará con todo lo que puede ser reciclado en estas
fechas navideñas.  Por ejemplo, el papel de envoltura, cartón, y recipientes de plástico se puede poner en las bolsas azules.  Todos los árboles navideños se
reciclan y se convierten en abono, que es disponible durante todo el año a los residentes que quieran pasar por el al 618 Del Mar Blvd.  Árboles Navideños
limpios (sin luces, ni esferas, o ningún tipo de decoración) pueden llevarse a los siguientes lugares para ser triturados.
