  BACKGROUND:

The City operates Veterans Field and contracts the Tecolotes de Los Dos Laredos to provide more leisure activities for the citizenry and to improve the quality of life.

 

Section I:

 

A five-tier fee structure is established for Tecolotes ticket prices at Veterans Field including special rates for Senior Citizens, age 55 and over, as follows:

 

-$5 General Admission

-$3 Senior Citizen General Admission

-$8 Reserved

-$6 Senior Citizen Reserved

-$3 and $6 for General Admission and Reserved, respectively, for Group Outings of 10 or more

-Free admission for children 12 and under accompanied by a parent or guardian

 

Section II:

 

The Parks and Recreation director maintains discretion on promotional rates, the dispersal of Tecolote tickets for promotional purposes and promotional coupons for reduced ticket prices or novelty items.

Establishing a fee structure for Tecolote ticket prices at Veterans Field including special rates for Senior Citizens age 55 and over as well as children 12 and under. 

 

WHEREAS, the City operates Veterans Field and contracts the Tecolotes de Los Dos Laredos to provide more leisure activities for the citizenry and to improve the quality of life; and

 

WHEREAS, the City seeks to increase the accessibility to these activities to more citizens by establishing a five-tier fee structure for Tecolote ticket prices including special rates for Senior Citizens, age 55 and over; and

 

WHEREAS, the Parks and Recreation director maintains discretion on promotional rates such as “Friends and Family Night”, the dispersal of Tecolote tickets for promotional purposes and the dispersal of promotional coupons for reduced ticket prices or novelty items; and

 

WHEREAS, a public hearing will be held and the ordinance introduced.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAREDO THAT:
