SUBJECT:  FINAL READING OF ORDINANCE 2002-O-067

 

Amending the City Of Laredo Fiscal Year 2002 General Fund and Fire Training Facility Fund budgets by appropriating revenues of $280,000 and $20,000 respectively as a transfer in and appropriating expenditures in the respective fund for the acquisition of Machinery and Equipment.  Funding is available in the Capital Improvements Fund reserve appropriation account.

BACKGROUND:

The Capital Improvements Fund will transfer funds in the amount of $300,000 to the General Fund and the Fire Training Facility Fund to provide the necessary equipment for the operating of the facility.  The funds are available in the Capital Improvements Fund.  The funds available were designated for the purchase of two ambulances; however, they were purchased through a proposed Personal Property Financial Contractual Obligation.

ORDINANCE 2002-O-067

 

Amending the City Of Laredo fiscal year 2002 General Fund and Fire Training Facility Fund budgets by appropriating revenues of $280,000 and $20,000 respectively as a transfer in and appropriating expenditures in the respective fund for the acquisition of Machinery and Equipment.  Funding is available in the Capital Improvements Fund Reserve Appropriation Account.

           

                        WHEREAS, on September 17, 2001, City Council adopted the fiscal year 2002 annual budget: and

                       

                        WHEREAS, on March 25, 2002, City Council held a public hearing and introduced this ordinance; and

 

                        WHEREAS, in order to provide the necessary equipment to operate the Fire Training Fighting / Law Enforcement Facility Project, the proposed budget amendment is hereby proposed.

                                               

                        NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAREDO THAT:
