Amending The City of Laredo FY 2001-2002 Annual Budget to appropriate revenue and expenditures upon the acceptance of a donation of $2,000 from L & F Distributors/Budweiser, $3,000 from Clark Hardware, Inc. and $1,000 from Conoco Pump-n-Shop for the sponsorship of a professional mascot d.b.a. “Reggy” where the total contract amount is $4,200, the sponsorship of a professional mascot d.b.a. the “Famous Chicken” where the total amount is $6,000 and the purchase of miniature baseball bats with the Tecos logo where the total amount is $1,500, respectively.  There is additional funding available for all aforementioned items in the Veterans Field budget and specifically the Professional Services line item and the Recreational Materials and Supplies line item, respectively.

  BACKGROUND:

 

 L & F Distributors, Clark Hardware, Inc. and Conoco Pump-n-Shop have agreed to donate $2,000, $3,000 and             $1,000, respectively, for the sponsorship of Reggy, the sponsorship of the Famous Chicken and the purchase of miniature baseball bats, respectively.

ORDINANCE 2002-O-95

 

AMENDING THE CITY OF LAREDO FY 2001-2002 ANNUAL BUDGET AND APPROPRIATE REVENUE AND EXPENDITURES UPON THE ACCEPTANCE OF A DONATION OF $2,000 FROM L & F DISTRIBUTORS/BUDWEISER, $3,000 FROM CLARK HARDWARE, INC. AND $1,000 FROM CONOCO PUMP-N-SHOP FOR THE SPONSORSHIP OF A PROFESSIONAL MASCOT D.B.A “REGGY” AND “THE FAMOUS CHICKEN” AND THE PURCHASE OF MINIATURE BASEBALL BATS WITH THE TECOS LOGO.

 

WHEREAS, the City operates Veteran’s Field and contracts the Tecolotes de Los Dos Laredos to provide more leisure activities for the citizenry and to improve the quality of life; and

 

WHEREAS, L & F Distributors, Clark Hardware, Inc. and Conoco Pump-n-Shop have agreed to donate $2,000, $3,000 and $1,000, respectively, for the sponsorship of Reggy, the sponsorship of the Famous Chicken and the purchase of miniature baseball bats, respectively; and

 

WHEREAS, the following provides for a comparable appropriation of revenues and expenditures upon acceptance of this donation to acquire said items:

 

Total Revenues:         $6,000

Total Expenses:         $6,000

 

WHEREAS, a public hearing will be held and the ordinance introduced.

 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAREDO THAT:

 

 

SECTION 1. AMENDMENT

 

 

The FY 2001-2002 Annual Budget be amended and appropriate the revenues and expenditures upon acceptance of the donation of $6,000 from L & F Distributors, Conoco Pump-n-Shop and Clark Hardware, Inc. for the sponsorship of “Reggy”, the sponsorship of the “Famous Chicken” and the purchase of miniature baseball bats, respectively as follows:
