PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:

On July 16, 2002, the City Council introduced this Ordinance.

BACKGROUND:

The State of Texas has requested that the City of Laredo convey to that government entity, two  parcels of land, in order to construct an acceleration lane to, and a deceleration lane from, Loop 20.

The construction of said acceleration/deceleration lanes will facilitate a more orderly flow of traffic from Loop 20 onto Jacaman Road in a Westerly direction, and from Jacaman Road onto Loop 20 in a Southerly direction.

In order to enable the Texas Department of Transportation to construct an acceleration to, and a deceleration from, Loop 20, it is necessary for the City of Laredo to convey the above-referenced parcels of land to the State of Texas.
