SUBJECT: FINAL READING OF ORDINANCE NO. 2002-O-185

authorizING the City Manager to aMMEND AND APPROPRIATE THE FY 2001- 2002 ANNUAL OPERATING BUDGET BY ACCEPTING the donation of $2,350 from State Farm Insurance Company for the purchase of one (1) 911 Bilingual Emergency Simulator.  This 911 Bilingual Emergency Simulator will be used to train school children in fire safety, an educational program that the laredo fire department promotes in the laredo community.

BACKGROUND:              

 

The Laredo Fire Department is in the process of acquiring additional training materials and equipment for the Fire Prevention Division.  State Farm Insurance Company has partnered with the Laredo Fire Department and has been instrumental in providing this funding for the purchase of this Bilingual Emergency 911 Simulator.

 

 

 

 

 

FINANCIAL IMPACT:

 

Contributions in the amount of $2,350 will be used to purchase of one (1) Bilingual Emergency Simulator for the City of Laredo Fire Department.

ORDINANCE NO. 2002-O-185

            Whereas, this Emergency Bilingual 911 Simulator will be used as a training prop for the Laredo Fire Department Fire Prevention Division.

 

            Whereas, State Farm Insurance Companies has offered to donate $2,350 to be used for the purchase of a Bilingual Emergency 911 Simulator that will be instrumental for training school children within the Laredo community.

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAREDO, TEXAS.

 

            The City of Laredo hereby accept the donation $2,350 from State Farm Insurance Company for the purchase of one (1) 911 Bilingual Emergency Simulator.  This 911 Bilingual Emergency Simulator will be used to train school children in Fire Safety, an educational program that the Laredo Fire Department promotes within the Laredo community.
