SUBJECT: FINAL READING
OF ORDINANCE 2002-O-186 Amend the City of Laredo’s
Fiscal Year 2001-2002 Border Environment Infrastructure Fund (BEIF) Grant
Annual Budget by appropriating grant revenues of $6,231,450 and capital
improvement expenditures of $6,231,450.
The North American Development Bank is granting said amount from the
Border Environmental Infrastructure Fund to the City of Laredo for
construction in support of improvements to water & wastewater services
to 15 Colonias in the City of Laredo and Webb County. DATE: 8/5/02 PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION: On December 18, 2000, the City Council
through a motion authorized the City Manager to execute a sub-grant agreement
with the North American Development Bank for $6,231,450 for the Colonias
Project. On October 16, 2000, Resolution 2000-R-142
designated Larry Dovalina, City Manager, as the official representative
before the North American Development Bank for the purpose of receiving,
administering, and taking action on the $6,231,450 Border Environment
Infrastructure Fund (BEIF) Grant for the Colonias Project. Larry

The North American Development Bank is granting said amount from the

WHEREAS, on December 18, 2000, the
City Council authorized the City Manager to execute a sub-grant agreement with
the North American Development Bank for $6,231,450 for the Colonias Project;
and
WHEREAS, on October 16, 2000, Resolution 2000-R-142
designated Larry Dovalina, City Manager, as the official representative before
the North American Development Bank for the purpose of receiving, administering,
and taking action on the $6,231,450 Border Environment Infrastructure Fund
(BEIF) Grant for the Colonias Project; and
WHEREAS, in order to provide the funds necessary to
complete the Colonias Project, the proposed budget amendment is hereby proposed.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAREDO THAT:
