SUBJECT: FINAL READING OF ORDINANCE 2003-O-036

Amending the City Of Laredo fiscal year 2003 NPDES Fund Budget, by appropriating the opening balance. The amendment will draw down $136,663 from the NPDES unaudited opening balance and appropriate said funds.

PREVIOUS COUNCIL ACTION:

A public hearing and an introduction of this ordinance were held on February 3, 2003.

BACKGROUND:

The approved budget for the 2002-2003 fiscal year had zero amount as the proposed opening balance. The actual amount as an opening fund balance is $692,441 of which $136,663 is available for the appropriation of additional expense line items. The excess opening balance will be appropriated for a possible purchase of land for the NPDES department in the amount of $136,663.

WHEREAS, on February 3, 2003, City Council held a public hearing and introduced this ordinance; and

WHEREAS, the approved budget for the 2002-2003 fiscal year had a zero amount as the proposed opening balance; and

WHEREAS, the actual amount as an opening fund balance is $692,441 of which $136,663 is available for the appropriation of additional expense line items;

WHEREAS, the excess opening balance will be appropriated for a possible purchase of land for the NPDES department in the amount of $136,663.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LAREDO THAT:
