I. CALL TO ORDER
With a quorum present, Mayor Raul G. Salinas called the meeting to order.
II. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Raul G. Salinas led in the Pledge of Allegiance.

Motion to excuse Cm. Garza, Cm. Landeck and Cm. Amaya.
Moved: Cm. Belmares Second: Mayor Pro Tempore Ramirez For: 4 Against: 0 Abstain: 0 Cm. Garcia was not present.
IV. INTRODUCTORY ORDINANCE
1. Providing for the adoption of a tax rate of $0.637000 per $100 value with a Maintenance and Operation rate of $0.513745 per $100 value and an Interest and Sinking Fund rate of $0.123255 per $100 value for the levy and the collection of General and Special ad valorem taxes for the City of Laredo for Tax Year 2006 and Fiscal Year 2006-2007.
Mayor Salinas made the following amendment to the motion.
The sixth whereas and Section 6 should reflect the following:
In accordance with Section 22.28 of the Texas Property Tax Code, the Chief Appraiser Certified a value of $158,088,010 under which a 10% late rendition penalty will be imposed to the levy and added to the original tax bill.

V. EXECUTIVE SESSION
The City Council hereby reserves the right to go into executive session at any time during this public meeting, if such is requested by the City Attorney or other legal counsel for the City, pursuant to his or her duty under Section 551.071(2) of the Government Code, to consult privately with his or her client on an item on the agenda, or on a matter arising out of such item.
