IV.       Motion amending motion approved on February 5, 2007 for the setting of regular City   Council meeting dates through March 2007 due to holidays and/or conferences.  The     revised meeting dates for March 2007 are March 19, 2007 (instead of March 12, 2007)             and March 26, 2007.

I.          RESOLUTION

 

            1.  2007-R-016  The following resolution is a consensus statement by the Community of the

                                       Laredo, Texas to encourage the United States Congress and the elected

                                       officials of the State of Texas to pass fair and comprehensive immigration

                                       reform.

 

                                      Motion to approve Resolution 2007-R-016.

II.        FINAL READING

 

            Motion to waive the final reading of Ordinance 2007-O-034.

 

            2.  2007-O-034  An Ordinance of the City of Laredo finding, after reasonable notice and

                                      hearing, that AEP Texas Central Company’s existing rates are

                                      unreasonable; finding that AEP Texas Central Company’s requested

                                      revenue resulting from electric transmission and distribution rates and

                                      charges within the City should be reduced; determining just and reasonable                                rates; adopting recommendations of consultants providing for recovery of

                                      rate case expenses;  preserving regularity rights of the City; ordaining other

                                      provisions related to the subject matter hereof.

 

                                      Motion to adopt Ordinance 2007-O-034.

III.       EXECUTIVE SESSION

 

            The City Council hereby reserves the right to go into executive session at any time during             this public meeting, if such is requested by the City Attorney or other legal counsel for the             City, pursuant to his or her duty under Section 551.071 (2) of the Government code, to             consult privately with his or her client on an item on the agenda, or on a matter arising out           of such item.
