State Provided Antivirals through Private Pharmacies

The City of Laredo Health Department wants to inform the community that there are state provided antivirals available through H-E-B Pharmacies, Gateway Community Health Center & the City of Laredo Health Department.  These are options for people who are uninsured or underinsured and/or household contacts of suspect, probable and confirmed cases.

In order to qualify for state stock medication patients must see a physician and be prescribed the medication.  For H-E-B the physician must note “dispense from state stock.”  H-E-B may charge a $10.00 administrative fee.  In certain circumstances the fee may be waived.  Gateway Community Health Center and the City of Laredo Health Department will be dispensing state provided antivirals to their cases and patients.

The City of Laredo Health Department wants the public to know that there is no reason for anyone to be without medication, if they need it.  If people are sick there are resources to assure that they get the treatment they need.
