Mission Statement: The mission statement of the Airport Advisory Board is to study, prepare and present, after advise

cases, the protection of the historic and cultural aspects of the city; in applicable cases, that the strict
enforcement of the ordinance shall deny the property owner the use of his property for any reasonable
land use, except as may be specifically stated in variances for parking and loading requirements; and

Ethics Commission
Composition: The Ethics Commission shall consist of nine (9) members. The Mayor and each member
of the City Council shall nominate one member of the Commission. Each nominee must
be confirmed by a majority of City Council members. Nomination and confirmation of
commission members shall be conducted at open meetings of the City Council.
Created: by Section 12.02 of the City Charter and Ordinance 2012-O-126; Code of Ordinance
Terms of Office: Initial Commission appointments shall be made so that terms are staggered, with five
members to serve an initial term of two years and four members to serve an initial
term of three years, determined after appointment by lottery. Subsequent
appointments shall be for a term of two years beginning on the day after the
expiration of the preceding full term. No member of the Commission shall serve for
more than three full terms. The tenure of the members of the Commission shall not
be concurrent with the terms of the appointing council member, so that all members
shall be allowed to serve the duration of the terms for which they were appointed.

Composition: As a recognized 501 C 3 – Public Charity through the IRS, Keep Laredo Beautiful follows its bylaws which
state that they should have between 3-15 (9-15 is ideal but legally it can be as low as three) sitting
board members at any given time, appointed by the City Manager and confirmed by City Council.
Created: By Ordinance 2004-O-235 dated October 11, 2004; Keep Laredo Beautiful has been an affiliate of Keep Texas
Beautiful since 2002 and while it has been active, did not always have a fully functional board. The organization
has enjoyed citizen and community support over the years, and just recently refreshed this league of volunteers
with the appointments approved by the Laredo City Council on April 6, 2020; M2020-R-05 minutes.
Mission Statement: The mission of Keep Laredo Beautiful is to empower the citizens of Laredo through education to
take responsibility for enhancing their community and its environment through litter prevention,
beautification, community improvement and minimization of the impact of solid waste.

The County Judge of the County of Webb shall appoint the two County Commissioners that represent the County of Webb.
Appointments to the Policy Committee shall be for a period of two years. A member may be reappointed with no limitation to number of terms, except that such term will not continue in the event an officer becomes ineligible for membership on the Policy Committee.
