El Metro to Host Inaugural “On the Border” Bus Roadeo: The Olympics of Transit Engineering
LAREDO, TX — It might sound like a dusty cowboy showdown, but this “Roadeo” features horsepower of a different kind. El Metro Transit System proudly invites the Laredo community to the Inaugural On the Border Bus Roadeo, a high-stakes precision driving competition that proves maneuvering a 30,000-pound vehicle is a true art form.
Think of it as the "Olympics for Bus Drivers." This event showcases the elite skills of transit operators as they navigate a grueling obstacle course designed to test their safety, timing, and technical mastery.
El Metro is thrilled to host this first-ever regional collaboration, featuring top-tier competitors from our partner transit agencies in McAllen, Weslaco, and Brownsville. Together, Rio Grande Valley and Laredo drivers will go head-to-head to see who is the best on the border.
