LAREDO, TX – The City of Laredo Public Information Office (PIO) was recognized at the 2025 Texas Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (TATOA) Conference, held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, in Houston, Texas. The PIO received a Programming Award in the Storytelling category, earning 3rd place for its video titled “Women in Law Enforcement.”
The annual TATOA Government Programming Awards honor outstanding video and multimedia productions from cities and government organizations across Texas. With more than 70 award categories and hundreds of submissions, the competition showcases the best in government communication and community storytelling.
The City of Laredo’s award-winning video, “Women in Law Enforcement,” was created to commemorate the 150th Anniversary of the Laredo Police Department. The production features the first women to serve in law enforcement at the department, who share their inspiring stories and experiences from when they joined the force in the 1970s.
This achievement marks the eighth Programming Award the City of Laredo has received since it began participating in TATOA’s competition in 2022, continuing the city’s tradition of producing high-quality, meaningful content that highlights Laredo’s people, history, and achievements.
