Early Closure of Downtown Municipal Buildings for IBC Youth Parade Under the Stars

LAREDO, Texas – The City of Laredo announces the early closure of several downtown municipal offices on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., in preparation for the exciting IBC Youth Parade Under the Stars. The following offices will close early:

• City Hall (Downtown) – 1110 Houston St.
• Bruni Branch Library – 1120 San Bernardo Ave.
• Planning & Zoning Department – 1413 Houston St.
• Building Services Division – 1413 Houston St.
• Traffic-Parking Division – 912 Matamoros St.
• Community Development Department – 1301 Farragut St.
• Laredo Convention & Visitors Bureau – 101 Salinas Ave.
• Telecommunication Center – 1101 Garden St.

Regular business hours will resume on Friday, February 20, 2026.

The IBC Youth Parade Under the Stars will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026, bringing an evening filled with music, color, and community pride to Downtown Laredo. Residents and visitors are warmly invited to attend the parade in person and enjoy the festivities along the parade route. For those unable to attend, the parade will be broadcast live on Spectrum Channels 1300 & 1304 via Laredo’s Public Access, online through the City of Laredo website’s Swagit, and streaming on YouTube @PublicAccessChannel1984 and Facebook at City of Laredo – Government, allowing the community to celebrate from anywhere.

To accommodate parade activities, El Metro Transit will implement temporary bus route rerouting beginning Thursday, February 19, at 3:00 p.m. and continuing until streets reopen, to help ensure the safety of participants and spectators while maintaining transit service for riders. Passengers are encouraged to check the El Metro mobile app for live tracking, follow official El Metro social media channels for updates, or contact Customer Service at (956) 795-2280 for route information.

Please note that the parade route has changed this year. The route will turn onto Houston Street instead of Victoria Street. Residents are encouraged to refer to the attached route map for updated details.

Motorists are encouraged to exercise caution when traveling through the downtown area, as several streets along the parade route will be temporarily closed. The City appreciates the community’s cooperation in helping make this cherished annual celebration safe and enjoyable for everyone.

LAREDO, Texas – La Ciudad de Laredo anuncia el cierre anticipado de varias oficinas municipales del centro el jueves, 19 de febrero del 2026, a las 4:00 p.m., en preparación para el emocionante Desfile Juvenil Bajo las Estrellas del IBC. Las siguientes oficinas cerrarán temprano:

El Desfile Juvenil Bajo las Estrellas de IBC comenzará a las 6:00 p.m. el jueves, 19 de febrero del 2026, trayendo una noche llena de música, color, luces y orgullo comunitario al centro de Laredo. Se invita cordialmente a residentes y visitantes a asistir al desfile en persona y disfrutar de las festividades a lo largo del recorrido. Para quienes no puedan asistir, el desfile se transmitirá en vivo por los canales 1300 y 1304 de Spectrum a través del Acceso Público de Laredo, en línea a través de Swagit en el sitio web de la Ciudad de Laredo, en YouTube @PublicAccessChannel1984 y en Facebook City of Laredo – Government, lo que permitirá a la comunidad celebrar desde cualquier lugar.

Para facilitar las actividades del desfile, El Metro Transit implementará un desvío temporal de las rutas de autobús a partir del jueves, 19 de febrero a las 3:00 p.m. y hasta la reapertura de las calles, para garantizar la seguridad de los participantes y espectadores, a la vez que se mantiene el servicio de transporte para los pasajeros.
