City of Laredo District 1 to Host Spring Lawn Contest

LAREDO, Texas – The City of Laredo, in partnership with Mayor Pro Tempore and District 1 Council Member Gilbert Gonzalez, Keep Laredo Beautiful, and Solid Waste Services, invites residents to participate in the District 1 Spring Lawn Contest, an initiative aimed at promoting beautification and neighborhood pride throughout the community.

The contest is open to District 1 homes with front lawns. Participants are encouraged to showcase their outdoor spaces for a chance to be recognized and win prizes. A total of 10 finalists will be selected, with 3 winners receiving prizes.

To enter, residents must submit the following:
• 3 to 5 photos of their lawn
• Address (must be within District 1, residents can confirm their council district by clicking here)
• Phone number
• A brief explanation of why their lawn deserves to win

Entries will be evaluated based on overall appearance, including absence of litter or debris, lawn maintenance such as mowing and trimmed hedges, landscape design, and overall neatness, including xeriscaping elements.

The deadline to enter is April 15, 2026. Winners will be announced on April 22, 2026.

Photos submitted may be used by the City of Laredo for promotional purposes.
