Mr. Walter was born in Zurich, Switzerland and raised in Augsburg, Germany. In 1991, Mr. Walter immigrated to the United States and settled in Laredo, Texas.
After completing High School at St. Augustine High School, Mr. Walter left Laredo to attend the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin where he was awarded his Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance in 2002. Thereafter Mr. Walter pursued his interest in finance in Commercial Banking, by joining the Laredo National Bank as a credit analyst and later as a Commercial Loan Officer.
In 2005, Mr. Walter left The Laredo National Bank to pursue his dream of becoming an attorney by attending The University of Texas at Austin School of Law. While attending law school, Mr. Walter took a special interest on the intersection of law and business with a specific focus on real estate finance and development. Mr. Walter’s passion for law in the business, real estate finance, and development sectors allowed him to excel in his coursework and attracted the attention of his Professors who offered him the opportunity to join a select group of students tasked with creating the University’s first Real Estate Law Association.
After earning his Doctorate of Jurisprudence from the University of Texas at Austin School of Law in May of 2008 and passing his bar exam in July of that same year, Mr. Walter joined Person, Whitworth, Borchers and Morales LLP where he used his expertise in assisting South Texas land owners in a variety of transactional matters and litigating real estate disputes.
In 2015, Mr. Walter joined the Law Offices of Donato D. Ramos, P.L.L.C. where he represented numerous South Texas County Governments, primarily focusing on real estate transactions and litigating real estate disputes. In addition to his representation of County Governments, Mr. Walter also represented South Texas business and land owners in a variety of business, real estate, and family law matters.
In 2017, Mr. Walter became a founding partner of Nguyen Walter, LLC, where he continued to focus on business, real estate, and corporate legal matters. In addition, Mr. Walter represented a diverse clientele in a variety of criminal, personal injury, probate, and family law matters.
In 2022, Mr. Walter joined the legal team at the city of Laredo where he assists the various City departments with issues including real estate transactions and disputes as well as issues related to finance, procurement, and contracts.
Mr. Walter has conducted various presentations informing landowners and fellow lawyers on how to effectively negotiate real estate and oil and gas agreements to obtain maximum financial gain for their clients.
Mr. Walter successfully earned the FINRA Series 7* and Series 66* Certifications.
He is fluent in German, Swiss German, and Spanish. (*Currently Inactive)
